Meet Our APPs: Eileen Yeisley, DNP, ARNP

We are pleased to present the next in our weekly series introducing you to Internal Medicine’s Advanced Practice Providers. In addition to sharing information about where they work in the department, we asked them each to tell us a little bit about their “Why” (the sustaining pull for their work) and what relaxes them. (Read previous weeks’ installments).

Eileen Yeisley, DNP, ARNP
Cardiovascular Medicine

Service: Electrophysiology

Time with Internal Medicine: I have worked at UIHC for 18 years (nearly 10 in Internal Medicine)

Hometown: I grew up on Long Island but moved to Iowa as a teenager when my father took a job at Rockwell Collins and I’ve been here ever since. I’ve lived in Marion the longest and love the small town but also appreciate diversity and culture of Iowa City.

My “WHY”: In the 90’s I developed a dangerous arrhythmia and received a defibrillator. I had an infant and a toddler at the time, so I became interested in finding out more about cardiac electrophysiology. It has certainly changed over the years as the science has grown. I no longer have a defibrillator, but I stay in the field as it’s always interesting to me.

What relaxes me: The things that relax me most is a good spa massage, a long bath a a really good book!
