Inflammation Program celebrates Sonya Pugh

Since its 1998 inception, Sonya Pugh has been instrumental in the operations and advancements of the Iowa Inflammation Program. Nearly three decades later, the program’s founding director, William Nauseef, MD, and current director, Josalyn Cho, MD, organized a celebration to mark her career and retirement.

Those who have had the pleasure of working with Pugh arrived to offer their congratulations, enjoy refreshments, and hear a few prepared words from those especially close to her.

Her retirement will be off to an exciting start thanks to a special gift from the team: an upcoming stay in Indianapolis and two tickets to see the Indiana Fever.

The team also wanted to put Pugh’s impact into words. After decades of service to UI Health Care, many people had a special message to share. These words were organized into a compilation, available for viewing below.
