Santosh Kumar, Assistant Professor

Anonymous nomination

Dr. Kumar is a great person, and he is a good mentor. Students or trainees are enjoying his work under his guidance. He is always keeping his team on motivation mode. Dr. Kumar is always available for his students where they feel needed.

Lisa Antes, Clinical Professor
Nephrology
Nominated by Chou-Long Huang

In December every year, each division in the department finds out who will be their new fellows in the coming year. For the renal division, sometimes we are blessed with very good fellow(s) when match results come out, but more often than not Match Day is the time our fellowship recruitment process gets busier. How can we continue to have a wonderful fellowship program without Dr. Antes? It won’t exist. The around-the-year, never-ending recruitment process and nurturing and mentoring of every fellow in the division by Dr. Antes keeps our program running and flourishing in this challenging time. Says no more. Our gratitude to you, Dr. Antes, from fellows and faculty.

Stephanie Cecil, Administrative Services Specialist
Infectious Diseases
Nominated by Danielle Allen

Stephanie coordinates so many things for the ID division! Recently we’ve had several recruits onsite, a reviewer onsite, fellows onboarding, and prepping for fellow interviews. She’s handled the logistics and made sure each step was taken care of. I am so grateful for the good work she does every day.

Katelin Durham, Second-year Fellow
Gastroenterology
Nominated by Alex Marti

Dr. Durham provides top-tier patient care in a number of ways. She engages in regular and thorough communication with colleagues and consulting services to ensure clarity and accuracy of information and eliminate errors. She is very thorough and always willing to answer questions from others. I am impressed by her work ethic and dedication to high-quality care and not taking shortcuts even when she is busy.

Cheryl White, Secretary II
Gastroenterology and Hepatology
Nominated by Lisa (no last name provided)

Cheryl is always willing to help out others even outside her division. Multiple times I’ve asked and she’s never said no. Thanks, Cheri!

Cory Sheets, Creative Media Specialist
Internal Medicine
Nominated by Ann Armstrong and Teresa Ruggle

Cory took time out of his schedule to set up, and teach us, a new workflow process for research poster printing. The new software includes auto-generated responses to customers, saving us hours of work each week. Cory quickly fixed issues during the initial implementation period, making the whole poster process much smoother. This will allow us more time to work on design and illustration projects, especially during the heavy poster printing months in fall and spring.
