It was no surprise that in the hour that the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine set aside to honor Dr. Phil Schmid, a steady of stream of well-wishers from across the institution stopped by to offer their congratulations.
After 54 years of service, there was also no shortage of stories. Division Director Dr. Barry London offered his thanks, especially for how much Dr. Schmid’s instruction and guidance has meant to the cardiovascular fellows. Dr. Frank Abboud described the rigor and inquisitiveness that Dr. Schmid brought to his own research as well as that of his colleagues.
Congratulations and thank you to Dr. Phil Schmid for his decades of service to the division, the department, the college, and the university.
