Dr. Vyshak Alva Venur, second-year fellow in Hematology and Medical Oncology, has been named to the Trainee Council of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Dr. Venur will serve with 19 other distinguished fellows from fellowship programs around the country to provide input on ASCO’s educational programs and a variety of ASCO publications, such as the ASCO-SEP, a study guide used by thousands of physicians preparing to take board exams or wanting to just stay current with medical oncology practice and knowledge. The Trainee Council also advises the ASCO in the development of programming for the Trainee and Early Career Oncologist Lounge at the ASCO annual meeting.
Dr. Venur’s service at the national level on the direction of oncology education will ensure that the University of Iowa’s priorities and concerns are well represented. Congratulations, Dr. Venur!
