Nephrology Fellows’ Graduation, 6/22

Although the event was last month, we are still pleased to share this report and photographs from the celebration held by the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension in honor of their four graduating fellows.

Over drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the Celebration Farm just north of Iowa City, division members, friends, and family joined to celebrate the successes of the fellows and the program, as well as to recognize some exemplary faculty members. They welcomed Dr. Chou-Long Huang, the new Division Director, and thanked Dr. Rebecca Hegeman for her years of service as Interim Director. The division also wished Dr. Andy Bertolatus, the division’s IRB Chair, well in his retirement. There were speeches of thanks and reminiscences from Professor Emeritus Dr. Larry Hunsicker as well as from Dr. Christie Thomas.

Then, the main event. Fellowship Program Director Dr. Lisa Antes introduced each graduating fellow, recounted their achievements, and presented them with certificates and parting gifts. The Department would like to join the Division in offering congratulations on their fellows’ successes and best wishes for their future endeavors.
