Yuya Hagiwara, MD, has been named Program Director for the University of Iowa Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Hagiwara, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, joined the department in July 2017 from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he was Director of Pre- and Post-Doctoral Education for Geriatrics & Palliative Care. Dr. Hagiwara will assume the role of Program Director from W. David Clark, MD, who will become Assistant Program Director.

The Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship is now in its fifth year at the University of Iowa and offers advanced training in clinical palliative medicine, in research, and in administration.
