Allen joins Internal Medicine as Division Administrator

The Department of Internal Medicine is pleased to announce the appointment of Danielle Allen, MBA, to the position of Division Administrator for the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism. She assumes responsibility for the division’s clinical and financial activities from Megan Beasmore, who has been serving in an interim capacity. Under the guidance of Beasmore and Division Administrator Kristin Goedken, Allen will also transition into the role of Division Administrator for the Division of Immunology later this fall. We are grateful to Beasmore and Goedken for their service to these divisions and to the department.

Allen started her career with UI Health Care in 2016 as the Learning and Organizational Development Manager. She directed New Hire Orientation and assisted departments in defining, developing, and implementing training and organizational development strategies. Beginning in March 2020, she assisted with establishing the COVID-19 response labor pool then transitioned to the Visitor Management Program Manager and eventually to Security Manager. “This was certainly a path I didn’t expect,” Allen said, “and it opened my eyes to a different side of health care.” Allen received her MBA from Mount Mercy University, a DACUM (Developing a Curriculum) Certificate from The Ohio State University and is a Certified Scrum Master.

Endocrinology Division Director Ayotunde Dokun, MD, PhD, FACE, said that he was “impressed with her problem-solving skills and depth of experience in prioritizing tasks.” Immunology Division Director Scott Vogelgesang, MD, said that Allen “impressed us with a multitude of talents and skills; her approachability, friendly style of interaction and overall enthusiasm will be of tremendous benefit to our division after a challenging pandemic experience.”

Outside of work, Allen and her husband are raising their two daughters on his family’s farm near Tiffin. In addition to kids, they are also raising an Irishdoodle puppy, cats, cows, crops, and occasionally horses, pigs, goats, and sheep. She enjoys reading, paddle boarding, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
