Sponsored by the Humanities and Wellness Committee, the residency program prepared a special holiday lunch during noon conference on Tuesday. Colleagues had time to unwind and enjoyed hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies. They also opened letters of encouragement from friends and family, which the committee members had privately solicited beforehand. These were a welcome surprise for each recipient.

Chief Resident and member of the committee Derek Hupp, MD, said that they got responses from about half of the residents’ families, and program leadership provided the rest. Hupp said, “We are so proud of the effort and care our residents provide on a daily basis to the patients that need their help.”
