We are pleased to present a weekly series to introduce you to Internal Medicine’s Advanced Practice Providers – we have over 100! In addition to sharing information about where they work in the department, we asked them each to tell us a little bit about their “Why” (the sustaining pull for their work) and what relaxes them.
Guiling Tong, ARNP
Endocrinology
Time with Internal Medicine: about a half-year
Place I have lived the longest: Iowa City
My “WHY”: I have strong family history of diabetes. Feeling the stress and pain that my family members had gone through motivated me to pursue a career in the endocrinology field. My favorite part of this position is to work with great professionals from multidisciplinary teams to help patients achieve their optimal health
What relaxes me: Exercise, reading and spending time with my family are the best ways to recharge myself.
Love the Meet our APPs! thank you.
