There are many traditions in the new academic year, but there is only one that welcomes dogs and babies. The Interns’ Welcome Picnic has moved over the years, but seems now to have settled at a shelter at City Park. As the Iowa River flowed quietly in the background and as theater-goers gathered to catch the latest performance of this year’s Shakespeare in the Park, first-year residents, faculty, family and staff took a moment to catch their breath after a busy day.
