Meet Our APPs: Harmony Tamboura, ACNP

We are pleased to present the next in our weekly series introducing you to Internal Medicine’s Advanced Practice Providers. In addition to sharing information about where they work in the department, we asked them each to tell us a little bit about their “Why” (the sustaining pull for their work) and what relaxes them. (Read previous weeks’ installments.)

Harmony Tamboura, ACNP
General Internal Medicine

Service: Hospitalist Program

Years with Internal Medicine: 3

Longest place I ever lived: Iowa City (25 years and counting)

My “WHY”: I knew I wanted to be in medicine since I was a child. I enjoy helping others in their time of need. Finally, by working in an academic institution, I am able to foster my love of learning.

What Relaxes Me: Reading, Swimming, Crafting, Spending time with friends and family

Harmony is a great APP with a strong desire to teach and precept others. She goes above and beyond helping our new colleagues overnight. She is also the first to volunteer to take APP students to help them grow in their knowledge and experience. As our night APP, Harmony practices with independence and maintains a wide range of skills.
