Earlier this month, the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism gathered at a nearby hotel to celebrate the previous year’s successes. As Division Director Ayotunde Dokun, MD, PhD, FACE, pointed out in post-dinner remarks, the relatively small division had much to celebrate. A successful fellowship recruitment, increased clinical efforts resulting in a remarkable margin, the addition of new research faculty—all of this and more, due in large part to strong teamwork, communication, and diligence from every member.
“So, thank you,” Dokun told the crowd, asking them to enjoy this well-deserved evening as they prepared for the good things and the challenges ahead. He offered some specific thanks to advanced practice providers for their work in the division’s clinics and to members of the administrative team, particularly Kim Tolsdorf, who had just joined the division and organized that evening’s celebration.
Following those remarks, the assembled guests lingered long over dessert and the good company of friends, family, and colleagues.
