Service: Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy, 3JCP

Years with Internal Medicine: 3.5 years

Specialty or service I almost chose instead of this one: None 🙂

One of my favorite moments in this job: A long-term patient decided it was time for hospice, so he rolled out on a stretcher with a funky hat and lightsaber. We always hope what we do offers time and quality of life, or equally as important, a dignified end-of-life experience. I love that we are presented with the rare opportunity to truly know and celebrate our patients in diverse phases of treatment and life.

What restores me for the work: Doing anything with my wonderful husband (Roger), 1-year-old daughter (Ella), and our fur babies (Winston Struble Bernedoodle, Schmidt Struble Labradoodle, and Ferguson the cat).

Emily is smart, compassionate, and dedicated to ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care. She is an excellent resource to other APPs on our team, and to nurses on 3JCP, and strives to understand the ‘why’ behind what we do. I truly appreciate her positive attitude, willingness to lend a hand to everyone on our team, and her steadfast commitment to our patients. We are very fortunate to have her on our team!
