The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism met at the nearby Marriott to celebrate its two most recent fellowship graduates. The tight-knit group traded stories and updates on their lives during an opening social hour.
After dinner, fellowship Program Director Brian O’Neill, MD, PhD, welcomed guests and then introduced each graduate, citing their achievements in the program as well as sharing how much he and the rest of the division has valued their efforts.
Each graduate also shared what they have appreciated about the training and mentorship they have received from faculty and colleagues.
There was time for a few more comments. First, Division Director Ayotunde Dokun, MD, PhD, FACE, congratulated the graduates and thanked the division as a whole for their support, not just for the fellowship but the division’s other missions in clinical care and research as well.
Dokun was followed by Amal Shibli-Rahhal, MD, MS, MME, who until recently led the fellowship program and the recruitment effort that resulted in these two graduates joining the program. She expressed her pride in their growth as endocrinologists and her sure expectation that they would go on to do great things.
This was followed by a few more photos and a lot more laughs as this strong community enjoyed each other’s company just a little longer.
Congratulations to this year’s graduates!
