After a break to Meet Our Interns, we are pleased to present the next in our weekly series introducing you to Internal Medicine’s Advanced Practice Providers. In addition to sharing information about where they work in the department, we asked them each to tell us a little bit about their “Why” (the sustaining pull for their work) and what relaxes them. (Read previous weeks’ installments.)
Lisa Harmon, ARNP
Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Occupational Medicine
Clinic/service: Respiratory Specialty Care Unit
Years with Internal Medicine: 5 years
Hometown: childhood – North English, Iowa; adult – Moweaqua, Illinois
My “WHY”: Being able to help patients and families to understand their hospitalization and the treatment they receive.
What Relaxes Me: scrapbooking, cricut, hot tub
Lisa joined our team in 2018 without prior experience independently managing inpatients with respiratory AND complex medical/social problems. She has adapted effectively, works hard, and always advocates strongly and persistently on behalf of the patients she manages. Her contributions have been invaluable these past 5 years.

Lisa is a very compassionate provider who has a special knack for working with some of our frailest patients.
