We are pleased to present the next in our weekly series introducing you to Internal Medicine’s Advanced Practice Providers. In addition to sharing information about where they work in the department, we asked them each to tell us a little bit about their “Why” (the sustaining pull for their work) and what relaxes them. (Read previous weeks’ installments.)
Courtney Reinsmoen, MSN, FNP
General Internal Medicine
Clinic/service: MAPPS, Obs, and PEC
Years with Internal Medicine: 3.5 years
Specialty or service I almost chose instead of this one: Ortho Spine
One of my favorite moments in this job: Any time I can work with individuals with special needs and their families. Living a shared experience with them pushes me to give them a great hospital experience. Often the picture isn’t always clear due to communication difficulties and working together to diagnose and treat brings me joy.
What restores me for the work: My family. My husband, Rob, and our 3 children, Ethan (11), Alli (8), Avery (7). We keep busy with sports, travel, movies, anything to keep us busy.
Courtney is one of the hardest working providers in our group, and always willing to do what is right for her patients. She is compassionate, smart, and well liked by all of her colleagues. We are lucky to have her.
