Internal Medicine Honor Roll: July 2024
Below are those named to this month’s Internal Medicine Honor Roll—an employee recognition program where team members (providers, staff, etc.) can recognize other team members who are doing great things.
We are pleased to recognize their contributions!
Amy Newton, Accountant
Internal Medicine
Anonymous nomination
Amy has always assisted with my Pcard/TEV questions in a very timely matter, even when she’s processing end-of-year financials. She is always very friendly and respectful when I ask for help. Internal Medicine is so lucky to have such a hard worker!
Rachel Becker, Nurse Practitioner
General Internal Medicine
Nominated by Suzanne Hennings
She is always willing to help out, including covering for others who are on sick leave or vacation. She is always willing to help see a patient in clinic that is not doing well. She is the definition of a team player.
Douglas Somers, Clinical Associate Professor
Nephrology & Hypertension
Nominated by Chou-Long Huang
Excellent physician and educator. An inspirational, phenomenal team player and colleague over 30 years.
Lisa Novak, Administrative Services Coordinator
Nephrology & Hypertension
Nominated by Chou-Long Huang
What would happen in the division without Lisa Novak? This is the question everyone asks when referring to Lisa. Also, the statement fellows made in the recent graduation celebration. A dedicated colleague for 20+ years, selfless, always going out of her way to help. Say no more…
Diane Van Ersvelde, Physician Assistant
Hematology, Oncology, and Blood & Marrow Transplantation
Anonymous nomination
I reached out to her for urgent help with a patient, and she came to help immediately and offered excellent advice. She then voluntarily covered a patient for me while I dealt with an issue.
Denise Floerchinger, Academic Clinical Program Management Associate
Internal Medicine
Anonymous nomination
Every year Denise onboards all the new fellows in the department of medicine. This involves a lot of communication and troubleshooting between the hospital, the GMEC, the new fellows, and their respective Program Directors and Program Coordinators. Denise’s communication and organizational skills make this look easy, and it’s not!
Jennie Reed, Administrative Services Specialist
General Internal Medicine
Anonymous nomination
Jennie is such an asset to GIM. Most recently I was impressed by how skilled she is at facilitating our monthly faculty meetings.
