Endocrinology fellowship graduation, 2025
Though the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism may be one of the department’s smaller divisions, its members turned out in full force to celebrate the graduates of their Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism fellowship. In addition to faculty, fellows, and clinician colleagues, many members of the graduates’ families also were present at Rapid Creek Cidery north of Iowa City to mark the completion of this important career milestone.
After an initial hour of appetizers, refreshments, and some outdoor group photos, guests helped themselves to an array of options from the buffet. Fellowship Program Director Brian O’Neill, MD, PhD, welcomed attendees and described the contributions of each of the evening’s honorees.
After presenting them with their certificates and other tokens of appreciation, O’Neill turned the stage over to Fellowship Program Associate Director Elizabeth Bowen, MD. Bowen pressed play on a video she had edited together of recorded clips sent by friends and family of the graduates, some from halfway around the world. The touching testimonials and congratulations from old friends and distant relatives moved many in the room.
Division Director Ayotunde Dokun, MD, PhD, closed the formal presentations with his own words of congratulations to the graduates and to the rest of the division for their year-long efforts to meet the missions of the division. He thanked O’Neill and Bowen for their leadership of the fellowship program, and he thanked Kim Tolsdorf, program coordinator for all her efforts behind the scenes to make the evening such a success.
Congratulations to our 2025 graduates!
