The Department said good-bye to one of its longest serving members last week. For more than 45 years, Diane Phillips worked behind the scenes keeping the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine on course. In particular, she worked alongside Dr. Richard Kerber, who offered a couple very specific examples of how her organizational skills saved him. One moment in particular, he joked, probably kept him out of an IRS audit. Others eloquently echoed their praise for Ms. Phillips both as colleague and as a friend.
Everyone in the division and the department knew they could rely on Diane’s practicality, humor, and wisdom. We’re all just a little more disorganized this week. You’ll be missed, Diane!
