Amal Shibli-Rahhal, MD, MS, Clinical Associate Professor of Endocrinology, has been appointed to one of two Assistant Dean positions in the Office of Student Affairs and Curriculum, effective January 1, 2017. Dr. James Choi, Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatric Anesthesia, has been appointed to the other Assistant Dean position.
Dr. Shibli-Rahhal served as a course director in the preclinical curriculum as well as the Fellowship Program Director in Endocrinology and Metabolism and most recently as the Associate Chief of Staff for Education at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. A UI faculty member since 2007, Dr. Shibli-Rahhal received a medical degree from American University of Beirut and a master’s degree in Clinical Investigation at the UI, where she also earned a Certificate in Educational Leadership. She completed an internal medicine internship at the American University of Beirut and a residency and fellowship at the UI.
