Rethy Krishnamurthy Appointed Human Resources Manager

Krishnamurthy-RethyThe Departments of Internal Medicine and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery are pleased to announce that Rethy Krishnamurthy has accepted the position of Human Resources Manager, effective November 6. Ms. Krishnamurthy returns to the University of Iowa from General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), where she has served as Principal Business Partner in Human Resources for the last few years. She has more than fifteen years’ experience in human resources, financial, and marketing management within a variety of organizational environments. Before joining GDIT, Ms. Krishnamurthy was a Human Resources Manager with the UI’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a number of notable accomplishments in that role. She streamlined the college’s peer review process, increased awareness of and involvement with shared governance, and received an Improving Our Workplace Award for establishing a volunteer program to aid in undergraduate recruitment.

Ms. Krishnamurthy holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Purdue University and a Master of Arts in Business Education with a specialization in Human Resources and Organization Development from New York University. She is a member of the Iowa City HR Roundtable and the Society of Human Resources Management. In her free time, Ms. Krishnamurthy enjoys reading, playing racquet sports, cooking, working out, and spending time with family.

Ms. Krishnamurthy will spend the next year working closely with Carol Wehby, who will retire at the end of 2018. Ms. Wehby has served the University of Iowa for nearly forty years in a variety of capacities, most notably as Human Resources Manager for Internal Medicine and Otolaryngology. Although Ms. Wehby is irreplaceable, we are grateful that she will be available for the transfer of responsibilities, ensuring a seamless transition.
