To reflect the center’s emphasis on promoting health, the James A. Clifton Center for Digestive Diseases will be renamed the James A. Clifton Digestive Health Center (DHC), effective Friday, Dec. 15.
“Much of our work is targeted toward maintaining and restoring the health of our patients, rather than simply treating a specific disease,” says Dr. David Elliot, Director of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. “Our goal is to reflect that work in the center’s name.”
In addition, the change will avoid the CDD acronym that was shared with the Center for Disabilities and Development at University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
Updates to signage, patient letters, and more are in progress.
