Winter Recognition, 2020

With something as intense and absorbing as an internal medicine residency, it makes sense that members come to view their colleagues like family members. All the more reason for the residency program to create moments for interaction between actual family members and the virtual one that grows during their time at Iowa.

Last weekend, the Internal Medicine Residency Program continued its mid-year tradition of hosting what it calls “Winter Recognition,” a chance to pause and say thank-you to the residents for their hard work, but also a chance to get to know the people that matter to them. Partners, significant others, and even a few children joined a good cross-section of the residency classes at Backpocket Brewing in nearby Coralville.

While guests snacked and sampled the brewery’s wide varieties of IPAs, stouts, and sours, they also relaxed and even took advantage of some of the board and card games on hand. Thanks to all for attending and to the leadership team for hosting and organizing!
