Hilary Humphrey, MBA, has been named Division Administrator for the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. She replaces Mazin Abu-Ghazalah, who was also Operations Director for the Digestive Health Clinic, a position for which Tara Clark, LISW, MBA will fill on an interim basis while a search for a permanent replacement is conducted.
Humphrey has been a member of the division for nearly ten years, serving in a variety of roles, including as the division’s Fellowship Coordinator and as the Division Coordinator. In each role, she ensured the daily needs of faculty, trainees, and patients were being met. Whether she was organizing events and all their moving parts or she was supervising support staff and ensuring their responsibilities were satisfactory and complete, Humphrey has been essential to the daily operation and growth of the division.
Division Director David Elliott, MD, PhD, said, “Hilary’s transition into this role has already been seamless. No other Division Administrator has had on Day One such a deep well of experience and existing relationships with division members.” Humphrey has been an important part of many recent successes in the division, including the hiring of nearly a dozen new advanced practice providers and the expansion of the division’s clinical research footprint.
Humphrey has been excited to take on this new challenge. “GI has been such a big part of my life,” she said. “I’ve been fortunate to work closely with previous Division Administrators, so I have a pretty good sense of what the job requires. I’m looking forward to serving the division in this new way.”
