Meet Our APPs: Aimee Foster, MSN, ARNP

We are pleased to present the next in our weekly series introducing you to Internal Medicine’s Advanced Practice Providers. In addition to sharing information about where they work in the department, we asked them each to tell us a little bit about their “Why” (the sustaining pull for their work) and what relaxes them. (Read previous weeks’ installments.)

Aimee Foster, MSN, ARNP
General Internal Medicine

Service: Hospitalist Service

Years with Internal Medicine: 6 years

Hometown: Fayette, Iowa

My “WHY”: Growing up, my grandparents lived on the “home farm” with my family. As my grandmother aged and became a widow, I assisted with taking care of her. Those moments with my grandmother inspired me to go into the healthcare field. I see my grandmother in a lot of my patients now, which reminds me why I chose this profession, and keeps me motivated to continue to help and serve others.

What Relaxes Me: Sunshine, Cocktails, and KC Chiefs Football!

Aimee is a very hardworking and dedicated APP. She never hesitates to spend the extra time necessary to give her patients the best care possible.

Thanks for all you do for our patients, hospitalist group and sanity. You are an amazing provider. I am proud to be working with you and hope that we can continue as an outstanding team for many more years to come.

” We meet many people throughout a lifetime, only very few leave an impression”- you are that person for me.

Aimee is my niece and she has been very important to me in my life. When I was in Iowa City for my surgery she came to visit me every day and she brought me coffee which I loved and appreciated. She means the world to me. You are lucky to have such a caring nurse working there for you and the patients.

Aimee is awesome!!! I have an opportunity to work with her as a colleague and also as a consultant. Aimee always dedicates herself and advocates for her patients. She is one of the best providers we have. We are so lucky to have you here at UIHC.
