Meet Our APPs: Melissa Mohling, AGACNP-BC, ARNP

We are pleased to present the next in our weekly series introducing you to Internal Medicine’s Advanced Practice Providers. In addition to sharing information about where they work in the department, we asked them each to tell us a little bit about their “Why” (the sustaining pull for their work) and what relaxes them. (Read previous weeks’ installments.)

Melissa Mohling, AGACNP-BC, ARNP
General Internal Medicine

Services: Medicine APP Service (MAPPS) and Medical Observation Unit

Years with Internal Medicine: 3.5 years

Hometown: I am originally from Mount Prospect, IL, and I live in Cedar Rapids, IA.

My “WHY”: I come from a long line of healthcare workers, and I have always enjoyed the acuity of working in the hospital. Working in general medicine allows me to work with a variety of patients with various medical conditions. I also enjoy working closely and educating my patients and their families.

What Relaxes Me: I enjoy traveling, hiking, massages, and working out at Pure Barre.

Melissa is an extraordinary APP who always goes above and beyond for others. Not only does she go out of her way for her patients, but she is the first to offer assistance to her colleagues. She also has a very strong medical knowledge and great organizational skills that allow her to facilitate safe yet quick discharges of patients.
