On April 26, the Department of Internal Medicine started the day with a full breakfast and a social hour to recognize the contributions of the administrative staff who work long hours behind the scenes. About two dozen staff members took part and even a few were gracious enough to pose for a couple photos.
In her most recent Views from the Chair post, Isabella Grumbach, MD, PhD, wrote, “For most of us, we do this work because we are committed to something larger than ourselves, because we believe that we can make some small impact.” The department’s missions of research, clinical care, education, and community impact are just as deeply honored and pursued by these professionals as the faculty members, clinicians, and researchers they work alongside.
