We are pleased to present the next in our weekly series introducing you to Internal Medicine’s Advanced Practice Providers. In addition to sharing information about where they work in the department, we asked them each to tell us a little bit about their “Why” (the sustaining pull for their work) and what relaxes them. (Read previous weeks’ installments.)
Stephanie Sands, AGACNP-BC, ARNP
General Internal Medicine
Service where you work: Internal Medicine Hospitalist
Years with Internal Medicine: 4 years
Specialty or service I almost chose instead of this one: NA, always wanted a hospitalist position
One of my favorite moments in this job: I enjoy getting to work with a variety of patients and illnesses, as I feel this gives me a broad range of knowledge.
What restores me for the work: I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends. I have a newborn as well that keeps me busy!
Stephanie is very compassionate and always willing to advocate for her patients. She puts in the extra work to expedite needed care during the hospitalization and facilitates timely discharges.
