As they have done every year for the last five or six years, the Iowa Chapter of the Society of Hospital Medicine held a poster session during the Progress 2023 CME conference. They invited hospital medicine-related abstracts from members throughout the state who would also be in attendance.
The winner received a cash prize and support for attendance at the national SHM meeting in San Diego in April. More than two dozen presenters from four different Iowa medical centers took the noon hour break of Progress Day One to present their work. A variety of clinical discoveries, adaptations to events, and avenues for further inquiry entertained and educated event attendees.
After a too-brief hour, the judges conferred and chose the following for recognition. Thank you to all the participants!
