Meet Our APPs: Adisa Tokaca, ARNP

We are pleased to present the next in our weekly series introducing you to Internal Medicine’s Advanced Practice Providers. In addition to sharing information about where they work in the department, we asked them each to tell us a little bit about their “Why” (the sustaining pull for their work) and what relaxes them. (Read previous weeks’ installments.)

Adisa Tokaca, ARNP
General Internal Medicine

Service/Clinic: Hospitalist, Pre-Surgical Evaluation Clinic, Cardiology

Years with Internal Medicine: 10 years

Hometown: Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

My “WHY”: My favorite part of being an NP is sharing my knowledge and developing meaningful connections with my patients. I teach my patients how to effectively speak out for themselves. Lastly, I strive to care for the patient as a whole person by considering their physical, ethical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

What Relaxes Me: biking with my children, gardening, dancing, pottery

Adisa is a wonderful co-worker. She is always aware of the needs of others around her and will jump in to help when needed. She goes above and beyond for her patients to ensure quality care.
