In lieu of their regularly scheduled Grand Rounds, on the afternoon of Thursday, June 13, Infectious Disease faculty and staff gathered in the decorated Smith Conference Room on the university campus to fete three graduating fellows: Nirmal Muthukumarasamy, MBBS; Abhishek Pandya, MD; and Thomas Wright, MD.
Infectious Disease Fellowship Program Director Judy Streit, MD, took the helm, urging the graduates to take a front seat together while their colleagues and mentors played a game, centered around the question, “How well do you know our fellows?”
In addition to the team of graduates, two additional competitive groups of three formed to answer the multiple-choice questions that Streit had tailored to highlight each of the honorees. A lively and friendly competition ensued, ending in a three-way tied match.
Following the game, Streit presented each fellow with two gifts: the first, a memento echoing the individual characters that the questions had revealed.
After the program, the group commemorated the occasion with photos before breaking to enjoy fruits, chocolates, and conversation with one another.
Congratulations to the Infectious Disease Fellowship graduates!
