On a stormy evening in late June, in the midst of a tornado warning, new and current Internal Medicine residents, staff, and faculty gathered in a private room in nearby North Liberty’s Tin Roost for the annual resident welcome dinner.
Guests brought their partners, children, and friends, and were treated to a buffet of paninis, wings, toasts, and more while some met for the first time and others caught up with one another. The dinner-and-drinks event served as a welcome reprieve from the stacked schedules of Orientation Week.
As people mingled, the skies outside the windowed room turned a yellow-gray, opened and rained fiercely for a few minutes, and then just as abruptly returned to a serene sunset in time for the event to end.
A special thanks to the all who attended and to the Chief Residents and residency program administration who organized the event.
