The Department of Internal Medicine is pleased to announce the addition of Ashley Rayer to the Human Resources team. A graduate of Mount Mercy University with a BBA in Human Resource Management and Corporate Social Responsibility, she joins us after 6 years with Transamerica. While there, she was responsible for talent recruitment of recent university graduates. She also led the company’s accounting and finance internship program. This included identification of recruits at career fairs and other networking events, as well as managing their onboarding and serving as a mentor and support after they joined the organization.

Rayer will bring that experience to her role with Internal Medicine, where she will primarily be responsible for staff recruitment and onboarding while she familiarizes herself with the department’s broad scope. HR Director Kaila Boothroy said, “With Ashley’s hire, our HR team is once again fully staffed. We are excited to benefit from the creative recruitment strategies that Ashley developed in her time at Transamerica. She will make an excellent addition to our team.”

Rayer is also excited to step out of the world of finance and into the world of academic medicine. “Finding the right person for the right job feels so important when it comes to health care. Internal Medicine seems like the best team to join.” In her free time, she enjoys playing and watching volleyball. Rayer and her fiancé, Kyler, live in Cedar Rapids and have two cats (Goose and Pancake) and one dog (Abe).
