On Saturday, October 5, cardiovascular disease clinicians from the region gathered at the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) on the University of Iowa campus to attend a brand-new continuing medical education conference. The inaugural event, designed to enhance clinical practice through updated knowledge in electrophysiology, is a joint effort between Mayo Clinic and UI Health Care. Next year, the event will be held in Rochester, Minnesota.

Division of Cardiovascular Medicine faculty Paari Dominic, MD, and Michael Powers, MD, MBA, were the course directors from the University of Iowa, along with Mayo Clinic faculty Siva Mulpuru, MD, MPH, and Yong-Mei Cha, MD. Second-year Iowa Cardiovascular Disease Fellow, Ashraf Alzahrani, MBBCh, moderated the panel and emceed the day-long event.
