Patient Safety Awareness Week was held from April 15 to 19, 2024 at University of Iowa Health Care, focusing on the positive work being done in the area of quality assurance and patient safety. On Tuesday, April 16, the annual Quality and Safety Symposium was held, including a keynote speaker, lectures and discussions, and a poster session.
For the poster session, the call for abstracts included requested innovations on quality improvement, patient safety projects, educational innovations, and research related to quality and safety. Sixty posters were accepted to the event, with seven from Internal Medicine faculty, staff, and resident and fellow physicians. The majority of the posters presented were by our residents.
